Kate & Jason’s wedding invitation preview

28 Apr

Hi all

Kate & Jason’s invitations are complete and mailed, so I thought it was time to show them to y’all!

Hope you enjoy. I still have Thank You’s, place cards, menus, and table numbers to design. I’ll post those after the wedding.

I am also working on a  new invitation for my friend in Chicago. Once those are sent out I’ll post on here, too!

Fabric Seach (part trois)

26 Apr

I think the search has come to a close. I finally feel like I have decided on a fabric and am happy with the choice.

Now it’s time for the great reveal….

Da dada daaaaa….

A white leather, but not leather, pleather, I believe. I found it at Joann’s fabric. I think it is the best option and now that we’re moving, the chairs are moving to the office rather than the living room, which has a more mid-century feel. I am so excited and once we move, I’m going to buy the fabric and began the reupholster project! Which, of course, I’ll keep you updated, along the way, promise.

What do y’all think? Good choice?

Here are some images I have been saving for inspiration that are similar to my chairs.

Shake It like a… ?

4 Mar

I never buy apps for my phone. Never. But this app was so cool, I totally splurged 0.99¢ for it!

Shake It Photo is where it is at (I have no idea why I just typed that, but it’s staying!)

Here just to show how rad it is, I have posted a few pics I took with it!

Be forewarned this app might be very addicting once you get your hands on it!

Buy it, Do it, Do it…

My baby

27 Feb

I was snooping through the iPhone apps earlier and I came across an app called, Sound Touch, for children. Normally, I would not look twice at it (I only have a dog, though she is a perpetual 3 yr old.) but realized it used my vector art on the icon!

Here it is for sale on Graphic River. Since Graphic River does not tell you any information about the purchasers it is nice to see when my designs are being used.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

23 Feb

I am finally getting my workspace at home to be some what complete. I’ll try to post a pic tonight or tomorrow of it all together, but here are some pics of the items I used. Also I have the cart from the previous post in there right now with my printers. Hopefully all this will get the creative juices flowin’!

Asylum

10 Feb

I realize I am a little late posting about the book, Asylum, by Christopher Payne. Dwell wrote an article about it back in October, here. If you have already seen it, I definitely think it is worth another look and if you haven’t, here is your chance!

It is a rare glimpse we get into to these mysterious buildings. I have always been a bit fascinated with them and how they are no longer existent in our society today.

Enjoy!

I am going to try to post more on here, daily instead of so sporadic (maybe, me typing this will make it really happen!)

drool…

How awesome is this?!? Who just doesn’t love an ampersand and the name, 300&65, how great, right? I know I do, I go through my glyphs frequently in Illustrator and look at them (maybe, I shouldn’t have admitted that…) Oh well. Go take a look-see and enjoy!

American Letterpress exhibit at AMOA!

4 Feb

This looks awesome! I am so glad it is in Austin at the AMOA! It runs from February 13th till May 9th so plenty of time for everyone to see it (even more than once!) I plan on going next weekend, let you know how it is!!

Hatch Show Print, founded in 1879, is still a working letterpress and design shop, creating posters today using the same letterpress methods as yesterday. The technology at this Nashville institutions has never changed, only the faces of the customers: from Elvis Presley to Elvis Costello, Buddy Guy to Bruce Springsteen, Etta James to Emmylou Harris, the Carter Family to Coldplay. While Hatch’s name is synonymous with the music business, its posters promoting football games, vaudeville shows, state fairs, stock car races, and picture shows reflect the breadth of American popular culture. American Letterpress: The Art of the Hatch Show Print illustrates the fascinating fusion of art with popular culture and music history. This visually compelling exhibition includes approximately 120 original posters (including authorized restrikes from vintage block and contemporary restrikes), 20 hard-carved wooden printing blocks, text panels and labels.

I want!

4 Feb

So I was snooping around some of the usual blogs I read and I ran into this amazing gem. I want it. I want it now. I don’t care, how, but I WANT IT! They are all beautiful and I would be more than thrilled to have any of them.

Amy Butler Rug

Who knew this girl made rugs too! So enjoy drooling at these amazing pieces of art. I’m thinking this is definitely an investment piece… Right? Right? RIGHT?

I thought so. :)

Enjoy!
